The short answer

A high-pressure pump pushes filtered water at 1,500 PSI through precision stainless steel nozzles, breaking it into ultra-fine droplets. As each droplet turns to vapor, it absorbs heat from the air around it. Run as a curtain along the open edge of your lanai, it cools hot outside air on its way in, typically taking 10–20°F off the incoming air, with more relief on dry, breezy afternoons. Our systems are made in the USA, professionally installed and controlled from your phone.

Cooling, not spraying

There’s real physics behind the drop in temperature: the same physics that makes a breeze feel cool on wet skin, engineered and pointed at your outdoor room.

1,500 PSIPressureEnough force to shatter filtered water into droplets far finer than a garden spray.

100%EvaporativeNo refrigerant and no ductwork. The cooling comes from a change of state.

The science: a change of state

The pump pushes filtered water through precision stainless steel nozzles at 1,500 PSI. That pressure breaks the water into an enormous number of very fine droplets: the same amount of water, but with vastly more surface area exposed to the air.

To turn from liquid into vapor, each droplet has to absorb heat, and it takes that heat from the air around it. The water disappears, the heat goes with it, and what’s left behind is cooler air.

The perimeter curtain

Your mist line runs along the open edge of the covered lanai, not overhead. The mist forms a cooling curtain exactly where hot outside air tries to get in.

How a perimeter mist curtain cools a lanai Warm outside air crosses a curtain of fine mist at the open edge of a covered lanai, gives up its heat as the mist evaporates, and enters the lanai as cooler air. Warm outside air Mist line at the open edge Cooler air fills the lanai Covered lanai Outside
Heat leaves the air on its way in, not after it has already filled the room.

Air crosses the curtain, gives up its heat to the evaporating droplets, and arrives inside noticeably cooler. Fans and natural air movement carry it the rest of the way. The design cools incoming air rather than filling the room with visible mist, which is why you feel the difference long before you see it.

Why high pressure matters

Garden-hose misting kits run at low pressure and produce large droplets that fall and wet everything nearby. A professionally installed 1,500 PSI system creates a far finer mist designed to evaporate in the air. That’s the difference between a lanai that feels damp and one that simply feels cooler.

Our systems are manufactured professionally in the United States, and our team plans the nozzle layout for your lanai and installs the pump and lines cleanly, so the system looks like part of the space.

Some days you’ll see it. Some days you won’t.

Covered lanai with mist hanging along the ceiling line, a ceiling fan moving the air and a dry floor below
A mist curtain mid-cycle. Seconds later, this is simply cooler air.

That haze isn’t spray. It’s water in the two or three seconds between leaving the nozzle and becoming vapor. By the time it reaches the seating it has gone, and what stays behind is the heat it took with it.

Notice three things in a photo like this: the mist hanging along the ceiling line, the fan carrying it out into the room, and the floor underneath it, dry. The fan is doing half the work, carrying cooled air into the room and drawing fresh air back through the curtain.

On a humid afternoon the curtain hangs long enough to photograph. On a dry, breezy one it vanishes so fast there’s nothing to see at all, and that’s the day it cools best. Visible mist isn’t the measure of the system working. The temperature is.

Working with Florida weather

Evaporation depends on heat, humidity and moving air, and all three change hour to hour. That’s why the system is built to be adjusted, not set once and forgotten.

ConditionWhat it does to evaporationYour move
Hot and sunnySpeeds it up. Warm air takes on moisture faster.Run longer mist cycles. This is the strongest cooling of the day.
High humiditySlows it down. The air already carries a lot of water.Shorten the mist, lengthen the pause, add a fan.
Good airflowHelps a great deal, moving saturated air out and fresh air in.Run fans on low or medium. The single best upgrade to performance.
Still airMoisture lingers near the mist line instead of moving on.More time between cycles, and turn a fan on.
Shifting windCan carry the curtain inward or bunch it to one side.Pause or shorten the mist while it settles.

Humidity in Florida is part of the landscape, not a problem to be solved. Systems in our climate are tuned toward shorter mist periods and generous pauses, and they still deliver the cooling you bought them for.

Everything from your phone

The smart controller gives you three ways to run the system. Screen names differ slightly between controller versions, but the choices are always the same:

  • Manual: a quick burst of cooling on demand, a nozzle test, or an immediate stop.
  • Cycle / interval: the everyday mode. Set a mist period and a pause, and it repeats, exactly how the system is meant to run.
  • Schedule: great for planned evenings once you’ve found a cycle you trust in similar weather.

To set a cycle, open the app, select your mist system, enter your on and off times, save and start. Watch the first few cycles, then save it as your default.

Care: we come every quarter

A high-pressure system asks almost nothing of you between visits. With our service contract, we come four times a year, on a schedule, so nothing creeps up on you. On every visit we:

  • Clean every nozzle, and replace any that need it.
  • Check filtration and pressure so the mist stays fine and even.
  • Inspect every nozzle for an even, fine pattern.
  • Look over the pump and lines for wear, leaks or anything loose.
  • Change the pump oil: routine, and the main reason pumps last.
  • Leave the system dialed in for the months ahead.

The short version

  1. Fans on, then mist.
  2. Short mist, longer pause.
  3. Change one thing at a time.
  4. Watch a few cycles before you judge it.
  5. Moisture is feedback, not failure.

Questions homeowners ask

How does mist cooling actually cool the air?

High pressure breaks water into ultra-fine droplets. To turn into vapor, each droplet absorbs heat from the surrounding air, so the air that passes through the mist comes out cooler.

How much cooler will my lanai feel?

A high-pressure perimeter system typically takes 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit off the air entering the lanai, with the most relief on hot, dry, breezy afternoons.

Does mist cooling work in Florida humidity?

Yes. In humid weather the system runs shorter mist periods with longer pauses, and fans help carry moisture away. Systems tuned for Florida still deliver real cooling.

Will it get my furniture and floors wet?

A 1,500 PSI system produces a mist fine enough to evaporate in the air, so seating areas stay dry. A trace of dampness near the mist line can happen on very humid days; a longer pause and some fan movement brings the balance right back.

Why is the mist line on the edge of the lanai and not overhead?

The mist curtain sits along the open perimeter so it cools hot outside air as it enters, rather than filling the room with visible mist.

What setting should I start with?

Turn fans on first, then run 2 minutes on and 3 minutes off. After about fifteen minutes, add mist time if it’s dry and comfortable, or add pause time if there’s more moisture than you want.

Does the system use refrigerant?

No. It is 100% evaporative, with no refrigerant and no ductwork.

How is the system maintained?

With our service contract we visit every quarter to clean and inspect nozzles, check filtration and pressure, look over the pump and lines, and change the pump oil.

Where are your systems made?

Our cooling systems are manufactured in the United States and professionally installed by our team.
